The U14 team battled through 5 games in one day to finish second in the Whitnall Fall Classic Tourney in September.  Great job by all!

Congratulations to the Jr. Chargers U10 Team, who recently won the Germantown Summer Nights Consolation Bracket!

In Pool Games on Friday July 21, they went 1-1:

-Beat the 5 O's Red 24-4 - Led by Lyla Tunkel as the winning pitcher, striking out 2 and only allowing 3 hits, while adding 3 hits of her own on offense, along with an inside the park grand slam by Maddy Remington.

-Lost to Waupun Eclipse 2-11 - Caroline Hand and Kyra Patterson each collected a hit while Cooper Kirt and Lyla Tunkel collectively threw 8 strikeouts on the mound in the loss.

In Bracket Play on Saturday, July 22,  they again went 1-1:

-Lost to Brookfield Starts U10 Blue 5-6 - Ella Busch & Lyla Tunkel each hit a triple, Kyra Patterson added 2 hits, and Cooper Kirt struck out 11 allowing only 1 hit in the loss.

-Won against 5 O's Red 19-6 in the Consolation Bracket Semi-final - Chargers collected 13 hits, led by home runs from Maddy Remington and Kyra Patterson, a triple from Caroline Hand and 3 innings of solid pitching from Paeley Tieman, striking out 4 and allowing only 4 hits.

In the Consolation Championship on Sunday, July 23 they beat the Wisconsin Scorpions, 15-8 - Rallied for the win despite trailing 0-4 in the first inning, scoring 5 in the bottom of the first, along with another 10 runs on 4 hits from Ella Busch, Josie Schneider, Kyra Patterson and Maddy Remington in the bottom of the third inning.  Hadley Meyer and Cooper Kirt split duties on the mound, Meyer striking out 2 and allowing 3 hits, while Kirt struck out 6 and allowed 0 hits to take the consolation championship crown.

The U14 team played 5 solid games of softball over the weekend of July 21-23 at Germantown's Haupt Strasse Park in the "Summer Nights" tournament. In pool play on Friday, the Chargers lost a nail biter in the last inning to the Wisconsin Scorpions by a score of 3-2. Ali Rowicki pitched 6 solid innings and Tia Tieman lead the offense with two hits. In Friday's second game, the Mayville Sting came back with 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to finish the game in a tie, 7-7. Lauren Enoch pitched 4 1/3 innings, giving up only 2 earned runs and Isadora McCann collected two hits in the game.

On Saturday, in the first game of bracket play, the Chargers played another tight game but lost to the Mequon Heat as they put up a pair of runs in the last inning to win 4-2. Bridget Dwyer's triple and run scored in the first inning kickstarted the game but it wasn't enough to overcome the Heat.

On Sunday, the Chargers faced the Brookfield Dash in the Consolation Bracket. After taking an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, the Chargers were lead by Enoch's pinpoint pitching performance through 5 innings. In the sixth inning, the Dash came back with 3 runs to go up 3-2. But, in the bottom of the last inning, Tieman led off with a single to left. After McCann popped out, Lucy Loferski drove a single to left to put two on with one out. Kaitlyn Lewandowski then came to the plate and on the first pitch, she hit a line drive smash past the Dash's centerfielder for a walk-off 3-run home run to win the game.

In the Consolation Championship, the Chargers wound up facing the Mayville Sting again. In another nerve-wracking, back-and-forth battle, the Chargers scored one in the top of the last inning to break the 5-5 tie and held on in the bottom of the inning to come up victorious, 6-5. The pitching combination of McCann and Enoch provided gutsy performances and Tieman again lead the way with two hits. A complete team effort and a great weekend of softball!
